Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association of NY

A not-for-profit organization established in 1988, provides resources, support and information for families, individuals and professionals affected by Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorders and related conditions.

Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT)

ASAT is committed to science as the most objective, time-tested and reliable approach to discerning between safe, effective autism treatments, and those that are harmful or ineffective. ASAT supports all scientifically sound research on the prevention, treatment and cure of autism, as well as all treatments for autism that are shown to be effective through solid scientific research, regardless of discipline or domain.

Autism Digest

The Autism Digest, founded by Future Horizons, Inc. was created to meet the needs of teachers, therapists, and family members who face the challenge of autism. The magazine is geared to bring you the most current information possible to assist in that challenge.

It is their strong belief that every autistic child and adult can improve and contribute to the lives of those who love them and, in many ways, contribute to society.

Autism Friendly

Autism Genetic Resource Exchange

The goal of AGRE is to facilitate more rapid progress in the identification of the genetic underpinnings of autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders by promoting sharing and collaboration. This substantial collection of over 500 multiplex and simplex families has clearly moved the field in that direction.

Autism Institute

Integrated Play Groups are designed to support children of diverse ages and abilities on the autism spectrum in natural play experiences with typical peers and siblings within school, home, therapy and community settings. Based on award-winning research, this model has been found to be effective in enhancing reciprocal social interaction, communication, play and imagination in children with autism, pervasive developmental disorder, Asperger’s and related social-communicative needs.

Autism Navigator

Autism Navigator is a unique collection of web-based tools and courses using extensive video footage to bring science to communities for the recognition of early signs of autism in toddlers. There is also a virtual community for families of children 1 to 8 years of age concerned about their child’s social communication development, challenging behavior, or possible autism. They also welcome professionals or anyone interested in learning more about autism in early childhood.

Our team of committed teachers combines over 100 years of “real life” experience working with children using The Son-Rise Program®. Over the last 25 years we have worked with more than 22,000 parents and professionals from around the world teaching them a system of treatment and education

Barry Prizant

Barry Prizant has more than 30 years experience as a clinical scholar, researcher and program consultant to young children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related disabilities and their families. He is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies

The Autism section of the web site continues as a standard of science based information on effective autism treatment; it is widely used by parents, teachers and service providers.

Center for Collaborative Problem Solving

Under the direction of Drs. Ross Greene and Stuart Ablon, the Center provides clinical services, training, and consultation to assist education, mental health, and medical professionals and parents in understanding and implementing the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) approach.

Icon Talk

We are a company dedicated to visual teaching strategies and support for persons with autism and other special learning challenges. Our primary goal is to promote independent functioning across developmental areas, including academic, vocational, communication, daily living, and play and leisure.

Interactive Collaborative Autism Network (ICAN)

The site is a collaborative effort among three states: the State Departments of Education of Connecticut (CT) and Minnesota (MN) and the University of Kansas (KU) to use the World Wide Web (WWW) as a means of supporting and facilitating training. Started in Fall 2000, the site was developed to disseminate information about characteristics, assessment, and research-based interventions and services for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
