Housing through an autism lens

This non-profit project will develop pathways to secure housing for Autistic adults that include supports and services as needed, as well as solutions for home builders. Long term, these solutions will increase safety and reduce risks — including the risk of homelessness for Autistic adults.

Mealtimes on the Spectrum

Mealtimes on the Spectrum is an online toolkit for supporting families of children with autism spectrum disorders to make mealtimes meaningful, functional, and healthy. Mealtimes are important for families with children with autism. This toolkit provides information, resources, recipes, and stories for parents of children on the spectrum.

Quebec Association for Independent Living (QUAIL)

Aim is to provide a comfortable and permanent home in the Lower Gatineau Valley for Anglophone or Bilingual persons who are developmentally challenged, to assist them in developing their personal life skills, and to help them integrate into the community as fully as possible.

Saskatchewan Abilities Council

Works with people of varying abilities to enhance their independence and participation in the community through vocational, rehabilitation and recreational services.

Sexpressions

Stephanie Mitelman, director, is a founding member of the Sexual Health Network of Quebec (re-launched from the Planned Parenthood Chapter of Montreal in 2005). She is a national trainer on issues of sexual health; training teachers, nurses and front line workers across the country. Her work focuses primarily on prevention issues and healthy relationships.

As a sexuality education specialist, she also works with individuals and couples with special needs, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has a private practice, and writes content for curriculums and classroom kits.

The Social Programs division provides supports and services to people with disabilities in Prince Edward Island to help them enjoy a good quality of life.

The Autism Centre UK

The Autism Centre is dedicated to providing information and help both to parents of Autistic Spectrum and brain injured children and to practitioners in the Health and Education sectors.

Tremploy Inc.

A non-profit organization that provides adults who have an intellectual disability with vocational training, life skills training, life enrichment, and support services.

Vela Microboard Association

Vela Microboard Association dedicates itself to honouring the rights of, and eliminating the barriers for, people with disabilities. This includes the right to freedom, equality, control over their own lives, and to be fully included as valued citizens in the relationships and the opportunities of community life.

Artist Kaitrin Beechey’s work is mostly monochromatic work using pencil and ink in various formats ranging from note card sizes to small posters. Each piece has been signed and numbered by the artist and has been limited to 100 or less.
